SUBLIMATION PRESSING INSTRUCTIONS
(white background)
Sublimation transfers must be used on a garment with at least 50% polyester (either white or a light color) but will show best results with 100% polyester on white or light-colored garments. The higher the polyester count, the brighter and clearer your image will appear. Lower polyester counts give a more vintage, faded, or aged look. Additionally, on lower polyester count shirts you may notice slight fading after the first wash. Sublimation is not for use on dark colored or black garments*. Where the image/print appears white, it will be the color of the garment. Additionally, the overall design will be slightly altered on a colored shirt.
Pressing Instructions: (at the store, we run our presses on 385⁰F for 55 seconds @ medium pressure)
Temp - 385⁰F to 400⁰F
Time - 50-60 seconds
Pressure – Medium, even
Pre-Press your garment for 3-5 seconds to remove any moisture. Place a sheet of blow-out paper inside the garment, directly under where you are putting the design (parchment paper, butcher paper or copy paper will work.) Place your sublimation print face down on the garment – it is best to tape it down with heat resistant tape. Cover with a sheet of blow-out paper. Press. Remove all paper carefully immediately after pressing to avoid ghosting.
Pro Tip – to help avoid press lines, rip sublimation print paper by hand all the way around the design prior to pressing.
**Remember: These are only suggested Times, temp and pressure may vary slightly with different heat presses. We highly recommend doing a test run to find the perfect settings for your equipment.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Do not use bleach, do not iron, do not use fabric softener, turn inside out, wash in cold water and lay flat to dry
