Asher Davis is going to be the one.
He’s 14 years old, and he’s going to be the one who beats the rare and aggressive cancer.
Asher Davis is grateful that he’s the one in his family who has been stricken with Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma.
1 in 5 million are diagnosed with this cancer that is usually found in the liver.
Asher’s kind soul and loving heart are happy that his parents Zach and Adrienne Davis didn’t contract the cancer.
He’s grateful his sisters Zayli, Zyla and Zella are healthy as well.
“Asher tells me all the time, ‘I’m glad it’s not the girls’, said mom Adrienne.
“Asher has such a kind soul, and he’s battling this cancer with so much class. Not once has he complained.”
It was 2 years ago when doctors found the 16 cm tumor on Asher’s liver- it was October 24, 2023.
“Doctors took 46 percent of Asher’s liver,” said Adrienne.
“Unfortunately, the cancer had spread to Asher’s lungs. After weeks of treatment, Asher had a relapse last November- doctors found cancer in Asher’s bones and knee.”
A few months ago, Asher had his femur replaced and doctors also replaced one of Asher’s knees.
“He’s looking at about 2 more years of chemo treatments- he needs prayers,” said Adrienne.
FLHCC is a rare, life-threatening cancer.
Survival rates can be as low as 5 percent, and those who survive often face recurrences that can result in patients facing long odds.
Asher Davis plans on being the one.
He plans on being the one who will fight hard, hug his cat Morgana, love his parents Zach and Adrienne, and thank God that he’s the one going through this and not Zayli, Zyla and Zella.
As long as it’s not the girls.
*Please give your best to Asher Davis and thank him for his courage and his love for his family as he fights cancer.
